Your tasks
Your mission
As a development manager (m/f/d) with an affinity for sales, you are the driving force behind our technology and a crucial interface to our customers. You will lead and inspire our software development team and take responsibility for the further development of our cloud offering. At the same time, you act as a competent technical consultant in the pre-sales process to convince our customers of the performance of our solutions. You will actively shape the company's technical vision and make a significant contribution to MDT's sustainable growth.
Your tasks in detail
Technology & Leadership (approx. 70%)
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: You will lead, coach and develop our software development team and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Architecture & Strategy: You are responsible for the conception and further development of the cloud architecture (Cumulocity & AWS) and define the technological roadmap.
- Project management: You plan and manage our agile development projects from requirements to successful rollout and ensure compliance with schedules and quality standards.
- Quality assurance: You establish and optimize processes to ensure the code quality, performance and scalability of our systems.
Technical sales & consulting (approx. 30%)
- Technical pre-sales consulting: You support the Managing Director in technical discussions with customers and translate complex customer requirements into viable technical concepts.
- Solution design: You design customized solution architectures based on our platform for our customers in the mechanical and plant engineering sector.
- Presentation & demonstration: You present our technical solutions convincingly in demos and workshops and answer technical questions confidently.
- Interface function: You act as a link between the customer, sales and development and ensure that customer feedback flows directly into product development.
Requirements
- Studies & training: You have successfully completed a degree in computer science, business informatics, electrical engineering or a comparable qualification.
- Technical expertise: You have several years of professional experience in software development, ideally in the field of cloud architecture (preferably AWS), IoT platforms and API development (REST).
- Leadership potential: You have already gained initial leadership experience or are an experienced senior developer (m/f/d) who would like to take the next step in your career and assume leadership responsibility.
- Industry knowledge: You have previous experience in the IoT or telematics environment or are familiar with the requirements of industries such as mechanical engineering, logistics or construction.
- Strong communication skills: You can explain complex technical issues to both developers and customers in an understandable way and impress with your professional and personable manner.
- Languages: You communicate fluently in German and English.
