Restaurant Manager
As Deputy Restaurant Manager, you support the Restaurant Manager in the operational and administrative management of the restaurant. You ensure smooth day-to-day operations, lead the service team, and maintain high standards of quality and service. In the absence of the Restaurant Manager, you assume full responsibility for the operation.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Supporting the Restaurant Manager in organizing and managing daily service operations
- Ensuring a smooth guest and service experience
- Active involvement in service and acting as a point of contact for guests in case of questions or complaints
Staff Management
- Training, motivating, and scheduling service staff
- Conducting training sessions (service, product knowledge, hygiene)
- Responsibility for a positive team culture and conflict resolution
Quality & Hygiene
- Continuous monitoring of service and product quality
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards (HACCP)
- Monitoring cleanliness throughout the entire restaurant area
Administrative Tasks
- Assisting with shift and vacation planning
- Ordering, inventory management, and stocktaking
- Supporting the analysis of key business figures (revenue, cost of goods, personnel costs)
Representation of the Restaurant Manager
- Assuming full responsibility in the absence of the Restaurant Manager
- Communication with suppliers and external service providers
- Implementation of operational guidelines and standards
Requirements
- Completed vocational training in gastronomy/hospitality or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in the restaurant or service sector, ideally in a supervisory role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Structured, independent working style and strong organizational skills
- High service orientation and affinity for guest service
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
