The position can be based at one of the three Fire Safety Business Unit locations: Erlangen, Zülpich, or Ballendorf.
Sales & Commercial Controller (m/w/d)
- Act as a business partner to Sales and Product Management through regular performance reviews, projects and analysis to identify improvement measures, support growth initiatives and enhance profitability
- Analyze commercial performance using product, channel and customer profitability approaches to drive margin expansion and strategic focus
- Consolidate and analyze sales, margin and key performance indicators across all European business units, ensuring accuracy, transparency and consistency
- Establish standardized recurring reporting structures with breakdowns by country, product line, customer segment and other relevant dimensions
- Develop and maintain automated and harmonized reporting tools to reduce manual consolidation efforts and improve data integrity
- Monitor and analyze individual sales bonus achievement and ensure timely and accurate bonus accrual adjustments during the year, providing transparency for Sales representatives and Management
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the IDEX operating principles and performance management framework
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is a plus
- 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in Controlling, Commercial Finance, or Sales Controlling, ideally in an international or manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills with proven experience in financial and data modeling; ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights
- Very good understanding of Commercial Finance, Sales Controlling, pricing mechanisms, and margin analysis within international, multi-level organizational structures
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and common BI and reporting tools; experience with ERP and CRM systems (e.g., Dynamics, JDE, or comparable) is an advantage
- Ability to collaborate effectively across countries, cultures, and functions within a matrix organization
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to constructively challenge assumptions and influence stakeholders at different levels
- Structured, process-oriented working style with a focus on standardization and automation
- High level of ownership, accuracy, and strong business acumen
